MA (間)

MA(間) is a wooden pillow designed as a piece of healthy furniture with multiple uses. Inspired by the traditional takamakura, it focuses on body alignment rather than soft comfort. The form is made of two smooth arches that support different parts of the spine. In its normal position, the smaller curve supports the neck and helps maintain natural posture during rest, sitting, or meditation. When flipped over, the larger curve supports the upper back and waist, allowing gentle stretching and light exercise. In a seated position, it also works as a simple leaning support. Made from natural wood, MA(間) uses gravity, body weight, and curved geometry instead of mechanical parts, offering a simple and intuitive way to support both rest and movement.
